A Site-Specific Augmented Reality Android Application, Vinyl Sticker, 2018
A viewer voluntarily scans the bathroom with a tablet where the app reads three images. These symbolic images trigger 3D avatars to be in its places. Using a camera as first person point of view along with real-time computer mapping and object tracking technology, the work contests epistemological questions over the notions of the bathroom, a response to recent LGBT bathroom issues. Along with intensifying gestures and three signs that are used as image markers, i;therefore;iExist questions current body politics meanings that occur while viewers interact with the augmented figures in the bathroom, a space that is inherently the most vulnerable in domestic space.
